Well, I'd be tempering any hopes from the beginning. Sometimes a tulpa isn't capable of providing a fulfilling sense of companionship depending on the nature of their relationship with their host. I know that wasn't true in my case.

The variance between the effects on the person engaging in this practice is so wide that perhaps one just has to be sure that they're not going to have a negative result and that the potential benefits are worth the time investment.
Certainly, once it gets beyond a creative writing exercise (for most people that treat it as such), it isn't something that can be undone in any practical manner.

Or practice in putting thoughts into words, alternatively.
personally I had Allun saying a few small pharses mainly "it's okay" within 10 minutes, it took just short of a month for her to form full sentences and she still keeps them pretty simple short sentences

I like to describe it as raising a child with access to your memories and your maturity
Indeed. They do have access to your chronological memories (albeit with a different perspective) and more clear access to procedural and semantic memory ("how" to do things and "what" things are).

However, the context of that knowledge is not there yet.
In our case, we dream. That said, when we dream it isn't particularly divided by identity - it is more just "me", without specifying. Whether that is simply us individually not noting our own identities or us both experiencing it simultaneously isn't really discernable.

...that said, I also rarely dream, whereas Skye dreams more frequently when she has slept.
I personally would not recommend making a tulpa if you do have mental health issues - specifically ones that are potentially enhanced or otherwise more directly related. For example, people who have schizophrenia or existing DID.

That said, if you are making a tulpa and have other mild mental health problems, they can be helpful. They simply should not be considered any kind of replacement for actual mental health care.

Simply keep in mind that, using the same brain, physical anomalies in the brain causing these traits will affect them.

...to some extent.
10:54 PM
The way the issue expresses itself may be different, but think of it this way - the tulpa is using the same hardware, the same brain.

Quite a few are - typically the more severe ones are, to my knowledge.
If you have a mental illness that causes you to have a warped sense of reality I would'nt recommend it. I don't know how bad your psycosis(?) is so I guess it's up to you
